REFEREEING REFRESHER COURSE for returning 2017 referees -- Evening of April 27
ENTRY LEVEL REFEREEING COURSE -- April 28 & 29
Closing Date for Course Registration:
Entry Level and Mini courses - will close four days prior to the start of the course. E.g. for a course that starts on a Saturday, the closing day for registration will be 10PM on the Tuesday prior. This will allow us to ship accurate numbers of materials to our instructors to deliver the course.
Refresher Courses - registration will close on the day prior to the course, which is actually 10PM the previous evening in Refcentre. Instructors will be provided with some extra materials, but will be instructed to ensure that those who registered on Refcentre are given materials first.
Minimum Registration Numbers for Courses:
The minimum number for courses is as follows:
10 students in the following centres - Edmonton and surrounding, Calgary and surrounding, Lethbridge, Red Deer.
6 students in all other centres.
Registration numbers will be monitored by Alberta Soccer, and you will be contacted a few days before registration closes if your course has not met minimum numbers. Once registration has closed, if minimum numbers are not met, your course will be cancelled at the discretion of Alberta Soccer, and rescheduled if requested.
‘Walk Ins’ at courses:
Entry Level and Mini courses - ‘Walk ins’ will no longer be permitted. ALL participants must register through Refcentre prior to the course. The organization hosting the course MUST provide a person to conduct a sign in process at the beginning of Day 1 of the course, to take place in the 30 minutes preceding start time. Only those participants who have registered on Refcentre, and appear on the instructor’s list will be allowed to attend the course. The person in charge of the sign in process will be responsible for this.
Refresher Courses - ‘Walk Ins’ will still be permitted, and instructors will be required to inform Alberta Soccer of any attendees who were not registered in Refcentre. Participants should be strongly encouraged to register, as this will ensure that they are transferred to the eligible list as soon as the instructor has marked attendance.
